The BMW E9X M3 was the 3rd iteration of the M3 series, and apart from the E46 GTR road car, it's the only M3 to come with a naturally aspirated V8 engine. Although widely regarded as one of the finest road cars ever made, the entry-level cast iron discs and floating calipers leave a lot to be desired.

PB Brakes offer a wide range of brake kit options for various wheel sizes and budgets. Our premium setup, which requires 19" wheels, comes in the form of a front 380x34mm big 8-pot and rear 380x32mm big 6-pot setup. When combined with our sport compound brake pads, this represents an increase in braking torque of 69% on the front axle, and 78% on the rear axle. The bias of this brake kit combination works out to 62% front / 38% rear, which is very close to the OEM bias of 63/37, while the increase in combined piston surface area is within 10% of the stock calipers so the pedal feel doesn't become spongy or unresponsive.

The largest brake kit combination we offer for vehicles with 18" wheels is a front 356x32mm 8-pot and rear 356x28mm 6-pot. This setup increases the stopping power by 48% on the front end and 33% on the rear end (with sport pads), so it does move the bias forward slightly at 65/35 compared to the stock 63/37, but this is well within acceptable limits.

Of course the benefits of upgrading to a PB brake kit aren't limited to only increased stopping power. Another big advantage is reduced unsprung weight. The 6061 aluminium calipers and brake disc center hats are approximately 20% lighter than their equivalent size OEM cast iron counterparts. The aerospace grade aluminium parts also greatly improve heat dissipation, which reduces brake fade from repeated heavy braking. Our floating disc upgrade takes this to the next level and eliminates any hint of fade under the most extreme conditions.
